There is something so special about getting to photograph your family, but this session felt even sweeter because it wasn’t just another photo shoot. It was a weekend filled with friendship, laughter, lake life, and the kind of memories that remind me just how grateful I am for the relationships this job has brought into my life.
Meeting up with all of you in Eagle River, Wisconsin, felt like the perfect combination of work and vacation. It was such a gift that our time up north happened to overlap, giving us the chance not only to capture beautiful photographs, but also to simply enjoy being together. Those moments outside of the camera are just as meaningful to me as the ones in front of it.
One of the greatest blessings photography has given me is friendships that grow far beyond sessions, and that’s exactly what our relationship has become. Courtney, Sara, and I have shared so many conversations, laughs, and life moments over the years that being together feels completely natural. It never feels like I’m showing up to photograph clients. It feels like I’m spending time with friends, and that is something I never take for granted.
Watching your three little ones together is always one of my favorite parts of every session. They each have such wonderful personalities, yet the bond they share is unmistakable. Whether they’re laughing together, exploring, holding hands, or simply enjoying another adventure by the lake, it’s easy to see that they’re building the kind of childhood memories they’ll carry with them forever. These are the summers they’ll talk about years from now. The lake days, the boat rides, the sunshine, the endless play, and the simple joy of being together.
There is something about lake life that invites everyone to slow down. The pace is gentler, the laughter comes easier, and the little moments somehow become the biggest ones. It’s where memories are made without anyone even realizing it at the time. It’s where your children get to experience the freedom of childhood, surrounded by the people who love them most.
As I photographed all five of you together, I couldn’t help but smile at how naturally your family loves one another. The hugs, the giggles, the playful moments, and the quiet little interactions are what make these photographs so meaningful. They tell the story of a family that genuinely enjoys spending time together, and that is such a beautiful gift.
Thank you for inviting me into another chapter of your family’s story, especially in a place that means so much to all of you. It was such a joy to experience a little piece of your favorite summer tradition while also creating memories we’ll all look back on with full hearts.
Here’s to many more summers in Eagle River, countless lake adventures, growing kids, lasting friendships, and all the beautiful moments still waiting to unfold. I already can’t wait for the next time our paths cross, whether there’s a camera in my hands or not.
