Welcome to the world, Carrington! It was so nice to see you down in Marietta, Georgia — definitely a lot warmer than in Ohio! We had a bit of travel to get down there — hopefully you’ll excuse us for welcoming you a few weeks late, but we tried to make it a welcome party you’ll remember. And I think we succeeded!

We took pictures with you, your older brothers Logan and MJ, and your gorgeous parents were beaming nearby. They had all of the holiday decorations set up and the Christmas tree’s branches were heavy with ornaments and lights. Seeing you and your family in your home, joking around, watching your brothers be brothers — it brings a sense of realness and perfection in a year that seems like it was not quite real to a lot of us. Through all the chaos and heartache, your family brought something truly incredible into the world: they brought you, Carrington, to meet us. God is amazing isn’t he?

Christmas is about miracles and hope. Thank you, Carrington, for being that for us and for your family. You’re going to grow up to be amazing. You’re going to shine brighter than any Christmas light, glow more luminous than even the brightest star on the tree. And through it all, you’ve got a family who loves you and cares for you. It’s been a hard year, Carrington, even if you don’t know it yet. Thank you for giving us a miracle to make it all worth it. We can’t wait to watch you grow up in the loving arms of your parents, the wild and crazy laughter of your brothers and the protection of the Lord!
